These statistics include every draw from the start of the Mega Millions game (September 6, 1996) to the present day. Numbers that appear most frequently are listed at the top of the table, while the least common numbers are at the bottom.

Over the years, the range of both white balls and Mega Balls has changed multiple times:

  • September 6, 1996: Mega Millions began with white balls ranging from 1-50 and Mega Balls from 1-25.
  • January 15, 1999: The Mega Ball range was increased to 1-36, while the white ball range remained 1-50.
  • May 17, 2002: Both white and Mega Ball ranges were set between 1-52.
  • June 24, 2005: The white ball range expanded to 1-56, and the Mega Ball range increased to 1-46.
  • October 22, 2013: The white ball range increased to 1-75, and the Mega Ball range decreased to 1-15.
  • October 31, 2017: The game format changed to white balls drawn from 1-70 and 1 Mega Ball drawn from 1-25.
  • April 8, 2025: The white ball range remained 1-70, but the Mega Ball range was reduced to 1-24.
